My aim is to provide personal tuition tailored to suit the individual needs of students explaining scientific concepts in an easy-to-understand way, enabling a good grasp of the subject matter and increasing the students confidence and grades. Students are encouraged to answer past exam papers to gain full appreciation of scientific key words, exam technique and the mark scheme associated with each question. All exam questions are marked outside of the tutorial session with in-depth feedback increasing exam awareness as well as a holistic approach to the subject matter. Plenty of homemade resources help difficult conceptual topics I am patient, understanding of subject difficulties and have an infectious passion which should lead to exciting tutorials!

Experience: I am a fully qualified scientist with much class teaching and personal tuition experience.
I have been tutoring for over 15 years with excellent results.
I started by supporting and teaching my own children in science plus friends while at school and sixth form. This moved to class-led teaching as well as taking students out from the classroom setting into small groups for a more personalised session. I`m able to make the tuition interesting, exciting and am privileged to be able to spend time getting to know each individual from a personal and professional view point . This helps to determine the type of learner and whether any educational blocks exist. I have experience with dyslexia and other disorders which has led to gaining extra exam consessions as well as an appreciation of the science nomenclature and concepts.


I particularly enjoy teaching the molecular biology modules of A2 biology which students find very challenging. As I`m able to provide practical skills in this area to increase students concept of DNA technology techniques due to my scientific employment.
