I am a qualified History teacher, with an MA in teaching History. I have also worked at an oustanding local secondary school for girls and a local independent school for boys. I have experience teaching at Pre-U, A Level, GCSE, IGCSE and Key Stage 3.I also spent several years in a pastoral role and as Head of History in a local co-ed school

I love teaching and also helping students to achieve their full potential. I am very enthusiastic, organised and dilligent in the approach that I take towards my work. I have excellent subject knowledge across a wide range of topics and an indepth understanding of exam technique.

My teaching experience is as follows : Cambridge Pre-U Modern European (Stalin, Russia in Revolution, Weimar/Nazi Germany, WWI)
A Level Edexcel (20th Century Dictators including Hitler’s foreign policy as a part of coursework)
IGCSE (Option B The 20th century: International Relations since 1919)
Edexcel GCSE A* to G and 9 to 1 (Medicine through time, Weimar/Nazi Germany, Elizabethan England, Surgery, 1800- present day, American West, Civil Rights)

Experience: I came to teaching late in life and feel privileged to be in such a fantastic profession. I hope my enthusiasm not just for teaching but also for my subject will encourage every student I teach to fulfil their true potential. Last year I have taught, Edexel Cambridge International and AQA history syllabus at Pre-U. A Level IGCSE and GCSE level. My aim is to get the best out of every student in a kind, empathetic and encouraging way. I feel it is important to work as a team with both student and parent. History is not just about the past it also teaches us about the future and should be taught in an interesting and fun way that will enthuse and develop every student. Exam technique is also extremely important in helping students understand what is expected when sitting exams.
