I am a driven academic who has just graduated top of my cohort for biological sciences (microbiology) with a first class honours degree. Currently I am working on a PhD at Oxford Brookes focusing on the global problem of antibiotic resistance. We hope to identify the mechanisms of clinically relevant antibiotics and elucidate bacterial resistance mechanisms in response to them.

I believe that as a research scientist, teaching must be a part of my career, because I feel education is fundamental to society in order to ensure the security of the next generation. I want to inspire students to not only take control of their education, but to push it beyond the scope of their course and as far as they can go.

Availability: Due to the nature of my work, I am only available on weekends. My time during the weekends is flexible although enquire to find out more about my availability.

I offer the first lesson for free. The first session will always involve an evaluation where the student will undertake a past exam paper to assess their ability and identify key problem areas.

All lessons will be held at Oxford Brookes in the John Henry Brookes building.

Experience: I have several years of tutoring under my belt as I tutored a variety of A level and GCSE students during my at university, helping them over come their troubles with science.

I was employed at Inicio (Market Harborough) from May - September 2016. Inicio is a private tutoring company that employs a unique approach to education and has allowed me to develop my own ideology for teaching whilst becoming a more confident teacher. Inicio caters to a wide range of students from different schooling backgrounds. Because of this I am familiar with all the common science exam boards for A levels and GCSE including AQA (including iGCSE), OCR and Edexcel.

At Inicio, I have tutored 10+ students in both biology and chemistry from KS3 up to A level. My sessions there require me to plan lessons for up to 4 students at a time meaning that I need to not only be well organised, but be able to carry a number of tasks at the same time. I pride myself on creating not only thorough but also fun educational resources that are able to spark a student`s own interest in a subject.

At Inicio, I`ve become adapt at identifying problem areas a student may have. From here I`m able to effectively plan a lesson to specifically target and overcome these challenged. I augment a casual yet thorough teaching style that hopes to educate a student not just for the classroom, but for life.
