Information about Iwan
Hello!
I am a postgraduate medical student, in my mid-twenties, at the University of Bristol, who has been tutoring for four years alongside various other professional interests. I am very friendly, approachable, punctual and reliable, with a wealth of experience working with young people, and I pride myself on the success I have enjoyed with previous students and the references I can provide from previous work.
I will happily tutor any student who wishes to improve their subject knowledge and strategies for learning - the effort students put in will be more than matched on my part. I`m tutoring partly to pay my way through postgraduate medical school, but mostly because I really enjoy teaching.
Should you be interested in tuition in any of maths and sciences to GCSE, or History to A-Level (and I`m very happy to teach adult learners as well), please don`t hesitate to get in touch - I`d be very happy to discuss how I might be able to help.
Best wishes,
Iwan

Experience: I am an experienced tutor with over 500 hours of lessons over the past four years, in a range of subjects, teaching ages 10-18 in History, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. My main areas tend to be Mathematics and Science to GCSE, but I have taught History to A-Level in the past. I have worked with students from all backgrounds, from ambitious students aiming for top scholarships and top grades at A-Level and GCSE, to SEN students requiring reliable strategies for learning.
I have worked as a 1:1 and general Teaching Assistant in a challenging South London school, running mathematics and literacy interventions, and working closely with students with special needs and behavioural difficulties.
I am also a qualified EFL teacher (teaching English as a Foreign Language) with a British Council accredited CELTA qualification from Cambridge University, with several months experience teaching a range of English levels from A1 to C1.
My approach is always supportive, but also to encourage independent thought, investigation, and individual achievement, with a focus on giving students the strategies they require to succeed without excessive external input in future.
