Information about Shabina
I have been teaching and tutoring for over 12 years.
I previously worked as an Associate Producer for a global news channel, where I helped produce a current affairs debate programme. In 2017, I worked as a Parliamentary Consultant for a member of the Shadow Cabinet. I enjoy political affairs, campaigns and developing young leaders.
As a National Executive Councillor and Committee Member for the National un ion of Students (NUS), I influenced and developed policy and strategy within Further Education and Higher Education institutions across the UK. I have specifically created and led on campaigns in the following areas Equality in education, representation, anti-racism and anti-fascism and international peace and justice with campaigns such as BME attainment gap; voter registration and student mental health.
I have also worked as a Team Leader for National Citizen Service where I supported seven teams of young people aged 15-17, over the period of four weeks, to plan, deliver and evaluate a social action project. During this role, I led and pastorally cared for individuals, ensuring their safety and assisting their personal development through the period of intense activities and I facilitated and tailored curriculum sessions to the team in an engaging and inspiring way. My teams achievements can be found reported in local newspapers and in blogs written by local councillors.

Please ensure that you/your child has access to reliable internet and a suitable device. All usual equipment will also be required (pen/pencil/ruler/calculator/notebook/maths set)
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: KS3-KS5
I have worked as a Science teacher, Maths coach and Science technician in various schools, ranging from academies in special measures to outstanding schools and PRUs throughout the West Midlands.
I understand different learning needs, allowing me to be creative and resourceful in classrooms and during one-to-one sessions. I possess excellent classroom and behaviour management skills and have marked work, recorded data and implemented individual learning programmes to help keep students, parents and schools updated on individual progress.
Early Years- KS2
I have been a member of the Senior Management Team for a Preparatory School where I implemented a whole school development plan by setting objectives in order to develop children, staff, the school and community. I specifically led the Math and Science curriculum for upper KS2 and provided support and training for staff members in these subjects. Alongside teaching both of these subjects, I also taught communications, which include politics, public speaking and debate skills. In this school, I expanded the opportunities available for pupils by arranging partnerships with external organisations such as the local Football Club for football coaching and introduced a School Council.
I enjoy working with children and families who require additional support, whether that is children with SEND needs or those who speak English as a second language

Shabina tutored my son for a few weeks and definitely helped improve his maths. However unfortunately she was never able to stick to the agreed time and in the end just didn`t turn up at all, providing no explanation for not doing so. This left us in a difficult position, apart from waiting almost two hours for her to show up (and receiving text messages to say she was on her way)my son has now lost his confidence again. Therefore I would not recommend her
