I am a qualified Montessori teacher and counsellor/play therapist with SEN expertise.

Supporting young people and adults with reading and writing is a huge passion of mine.

I have just been accepted to study for the level 5 practitioners certificate with the British Dyslexia Association starting Jan `18.

I live in a lovely leafy part of Bristol and have a peaceful, comfortable room where I tutor from.

I have worked extensively in Montessori schools, colleges and SEN schools since 1998. I have worked as a home tutor since 2000. I have also worked and travelled abroad as a literary and creative educational therapist.

Experience: My approach to tutoring is tailor made to the individual. I have a flexible, sensorial and creative approach to learning ... always with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment. Learning should never ever be a chore but a delight.

As an experienced play therapist and counsellor I work in a therapeutic way with my students. Preserving and recovering self esteem and confidence is I believe an essential part of any learning journey.

I am particularly passionate about supporting young people to read and write and have over the years developed an innovative learning programme which has had proven success with many children of all ages and abilities.
Challenges and resistance that a young person faces are always met with a solution focused kindness. Through careful observation I am continually learning about my student and therefor the success of my tutoring style relies on my responsiveness, flexibility and humility.
