You can be tutored online for exam success by me, a retired university lecturer, at levels from O-level to degree in humanities including history, ancient history, art history, English literature and language and IELTS Speaking, Writing and Reading.I am an IELTS examiner. My last tutee for Writing started at 6.5 and got 8.0 in the UK test. I hold a valid CRB Certificate. `Michael was really helpful and experienced with my IELTS exam. My writing score improved from 5.5 to 6.5 after 5 lessons only. Highly recommended` Dr Yu, cardiac surgeon from China.
GCSE students I have tutored have been studying CIE Business Studies, AQA History B, International Relations, Edexcel Modern European and World History, and at AS Level the new option Poverty, Public Health and the Growth of Government. Recent students have been preparing for entrance to independent secondary schools.
Essay crisis? You can call on me for quick, effective, expert help and discover how to structure, clarify and correct your essays. Help with choosing dissertation topics, writing research proposals and personal statements and polishing dissertations is also available from me. Recently I`ve given online and face-to-face tuition to students from the LSE (economic history), Bristol (ancient history), Manchester (ancient history) and Cambridge (Tudor history).
My British students range from teenagers studying for O-level to mature students studying at the Courtauld Institute and the Open University. My international students include some from Italy, Poland, China, Korea, Abu Dhabi, Egypt and Russia. My current adult students include a surgeon, an architect and a writer.
Also I can assist with doctoral proposals, job applications, UCAS personal statements, etc.
You can book me for face-to-face or online tuition using skype. My online students come from as far afield as China, France, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Books: The American Panorama: A Comprehensive Guide to the Culture of the United States St George and the Dragons: The Making of English Identity (Fonthill Media, 2018).
Availability: Online by skype and email during business hours. My fee is GBP 35 per hour.

Having been taught by Michael virtually for nearly three years – both in iGCSE level RS (Grade 9), and then onto Pre-U History – he is an absolutely splendid teacher. His passion and pure enthusiasm for the subjects he teaches, and his high level of prep leaves each session an absolute pleasure to be in. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Equally, if you are considering an Oxbridge application (I was accepted), Michael’s own wealth of personal experience really gives a true and invaluable insight into college life.
