I`m a qualified secondary school teacher with a fresh approach to teaching maths. Having spent most of my life in the education system (both as a student and a teacher) I have a real passion for learning, something that I endeavour to pass on to my students.

I believe the key to good learning is finding a method or approach that suits the students. We all learn in different ways and I encourage students who have been struggling with certain learning methods to find the one that is right for them. Building a person`s belief in their own ability and understanding is key, and many students lack confidence in themselves. I think one of my strengths is an ability to boost the self-confidence of learners and make them believe they can do it! Often a few gaps in knowledge will leave students feeling they don`t have the ability to understand the subject at all. But this can be rectified once the gaps are identified, and concepts are taught and reinforced through practice.

I feel it`s extremely important to have a good relationship between the tutor and the student, and I always endeavour to have excellent working relationships with my students.

Experience: I have over 10 years experience as a secondary school teacher and I have been tutoring privately since university. I am well versed in the current curriculum. I have an excellent success rate at improving attainment and supporting students to achieve and exceed their target grades at GCSE. I also have experience in teaching the KS2 SATS curriculum.
