I taught mathematics full time for 18 years. I love mathematics and enjoy helping students to reach their potential in this very important subject. I have lived in Bourne for many years and also do voluntary work in the town.
For younger pupils, my main focus is to increase confidence as I feel it is very important that children are confident to let them fully enjoy the subject and to allow them to flourish at school.
I am an examiner for Edexcel GCSE Mathematics so for my GCSE students, I use my detailed knowledge of the exam papers to fully prepare them for their examinations by addressing their weaknesses and also concentrating on the most common mistakes made by students in examinations.
For A level pupils, I help them to be independent learners. I carefully teach methods needed but also encourage the students to work independently as this is an important skill at A level.
I am very happy to provide references from students I have tutored.

Experience: I was a maths teacher for 18 years. I am a fully qualified, highly experienced teacher. I have taught in Comprehensive schools, Grammar schools and also Further and Higher education. I have therefore taught all levels of maths from primary to GCSE, A Level and Degree foundation. I have also held the roles of second in department and head of department for mathematics. I have been doing private tuition for 10 years and all of my students have been successful in achieving their goals. I believe it is extremely important that children are tutored by experienced, qualified teachers to ensure that they are being taught by someone who knows examinations and maths teaching methods inside and out.
