Currently I teach 16- 25 year olds, part time at Kingston college. I have also tutored students since 2011 and taught science locally. I have teaching qualifications. I am a graduate in Biology with Environmental studies. My sons are grown and both went to University. I gained teaching and business post graduate qualifications.

Approach
I find out what students need and provide tailored help, particularly for AS and A2 levels. I include demonstrations and examples or specimens in biology to help understanding. I help students to find out by experience, and learning or calculations, practice q`s and past papers. This helps to increase confidence and raise grades.

I tutor KS3, GCSE Sciences, General and separate Sciences, A level Biology.
I help with youth groups on Sundays. So I make my sessions interesting and fun.

Availability: I do not wish to teach remotely so when the risk is very low I can come to your house or finda place to meet

I generally teach some KS3 Science preparatory to GCSE during July. Possibly a group lesson please express interest soon to book by end of June. 4-6 half days

Mostly students study at their house, for KS3, GCSE all sciences, A level Biology and environmental studies.
It is a good idea to book me up early. I can accept students during holidays after school in the evening from 6 pm slots go quickly, In April and May existing students have priority.

Experience: Experience
I have tutored science for 8 years. Currently I teach Biology for Btec, access and Fdn degree students, I also taught secondary school Science and been developing Engineers and adults. I worked as a Scientist in DNA analysis. Recently I have tutored Science with all boards AQA, Edexel (GCSE and IGCSE) and OCR. Many students come to me with SEN such as dyslexia or ADHD or after missing school. They enjoyed catching up with the subject because I can adapt to their learning style. The ones that do best start early in the year.

Adults: References include "Penny really ensured I understood Biology," from a trainee teacher, IGCSE Biology she gained a B grade higher than needed to teach in Primary school, I also help first year University students write assignments. As a consultant, I helped engineers apply to be chartered. I have written and set up effective development schemes. I teach apprentice laboratory technicians.

My Science teaching method is to use lots of images and specimens or mini experiments to illustrate structures or how Biology works.
A GCSE triple student gained all A stars with hard work, she found it easier working with me than on her own. An A level resit student said I really helped her gain her A star.

For A level Biology ( this year I will focus on the AQA board) I helped students raise grades, and be confident with their knowledge and exam technique. Sometimes grades go from from B to A and A star or do retakes and achieve what they need.
