Having completed a PhD project in the field of molecular biology, I began tutoring science at secondary level in 2012. During the intervening years, I have worked with students of all levels to achieve their educational goals. I specialise in biology tutoring at A Level, but also often teach science (both combined or individual specifications) at GCSE level. I endeavour to make sessions as enjoyable and interesting as possible for my students, and take care to tailor sessions to their individual requirements.

In addition to exam tutoring, I have assisted students from year 7 upwards, to supplement their homeschooling programs or to address specific gaps in education. I am passionate about the value of science for all students, whether or not they wish to pursue a scientific future.

As I have considerable experience of biological research, I can offer insight into biology beyond the curriculum, for students interested in continuing their scientific education. This is of particular benefit for students of A Level Biology who are interested in pursuing their studies at university. Furthermore, although I chose to pursue an academic degree (PhD) rather than clinical education, I have successful experience of the undergraduate veterinary medicine admissions process, which may be of use to prospective veterinary medicine students.

Experience: I am an experienced tutor of secondary level science, educated to PhD level in molecular biology. I have taught students from year 7 upwards across all the major syllabi. To date I have gained considerable experience within the biological sciences, both during my undergraduate degree and post graduate employment and PhD project. Furthermore, my years of tutoring experience and extra-curricular involvement both with a local uniformed youth group and coaching horse sports for young people have enabled me to develop my communication skills in order to maximise learning potential.
