Information about Paul
I taught for 25yrs before ill health retirement. I have since taught 1 to 1 as a Skills for Life tutor until ill health yet again caught up on me. I am now retired, lived on a narrowboat in Cheshire for sixteen years but have recently moved to the Ryton area. I have taught in every type of school from private to special school. I have run a very successful charity project tutoring school phobics, serial truants, home school and excluded students. I have also taught adult Basic Skills and English to foreign students.
I have used National Tests in Numeracy and Literacy for students needing that magic `C`4/5 grade to access College/University and a pass ay Level 2 will qualify.
I am an excellent motivator with the experience to locate the educational problems and find solutions to solve them. I work on emphasising what people can do and boosting confidence and self belief to master the things people feel they can`t do. This works extremely well with SAT and GCSE children.
I have specialised in teaching youngsters with special educational needs and spent a lot of time working with SATs students.
Tutoring has the opportunity to `reset` the learning experience that may have soured in school and provide an enjoyable learning experience that can transfer back to school.
