A PhD and degree in Chemistry, I am an experienced school Senior Leader with a previous career in the pharmaceutical industry. Senior Examiner for UK and international examination boards and former Director of Science, I have experience of the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge International specifications.
A published author of textbooks and revision guides for Oxford University Press, I have also written online content for Kerboodle to support learners studying for AQA and OCR.
Availability: Weekends and weekday late afternoons/evenings

Dr. Nicholas has been tutoring my son since last month in A level Chemistry. My son has said that concepts are extremely well - explained and that his understanding and enjoyment of the subject has increased in a short space of time. His tutor is exceptional in identifying any misconceptions and tackling these. Dr.Nicholas is always prompt for the weekly lessons and has been very flexible with any changes to timetable. My son is studying A-level Chemistry (CIE exam board) with Dr Nicholas. Dr Nicholas explains complex material very clearly, they are able to cover a couple of topics every lesson. Dr Nicholas understands the pace and learning style suitable for the student. The lessons are incredibly helpful. After only 8 lessons my son`s assessment results have risen from E to A! Now we can hope for excellent A-level grades. Thank you so much!

Nick is an excellent tutor. He has helped our son with Chemistry A level and preparing for his exams and summer assessments following lockdown. He explains the subject very clearly and will tailor sessions as required. Our son has enjoyed working with Nick and has improved significantly. I would highly recommend him.

Nick is excellent. He has been supporting my daughter with her Chemistry A level for a few months. He is extremely knowledgeable, flexible and gives 100%. He is also very nice to deal with. Couldn’t ask for more in a teacher really. Strongly recommended.
