Nicky

I am Nicky, a private online A-level Chemistry tutor with ten years of tutoring experience.

With a Master of Chemistry degree from Oxford University, and a friendly and informal teaching style, I provide my students with an excellent understanding of the material, and also ensure they really enjoy their lessons.

I believe in empowering the student to take responsibility of their learning. I provide them with learning and revision skills which will help when preparing for exams for all their subjects.

I have worked as an Assistant Examiner for one of the leading UK examination boards, marking A-level Chemistry papers and this has given me a great insight into exactly what the examiners are looking for and how the students should best present their work.

I teach students of all ability levels – I am just as proud of a student who works really hard and achieves their C as I am of a student who gets the A required to get into medicine.

I am currently tutoring all A-level examination syllabuses in the UK (Edexcel, AQA, OCR A, OCR B) and am happy to consider students from other international boards as well.

I charge £60 per hour and teach my lessons online using Zoom. In addition to a webcam on my face, I have a webcam viewing the notes that I am writing during the tutorial. At the end of the lesson I send photographs of the notes for the student to write up or print out at home, which will be key for using as revision notes.
I also provide text support between the tutorials should the students require it, and mark their homework in my free time so we can focus on new material in the tutorial.

Availability: During the day and evenings - Monday - Friday
