Information about Nick
Delighted to announce another one of my Autistic (labelled) students won an "A" at Psychology A level.
I am now concentrating on teaching deeper mindfulness as an aid to studying whichever subject you want me to cover.
Recent feedback on my Blake and deeper mindfulness presentation: Your talk was utterly outstanding. One of the highlights of the whole festival. Your compassionate understanding of what it feels like in the high vibration, the fragility of this state, it`s hard-earned mastery and the realization that William Blake`s experience on this journey is our experience on this journey was profound.
My talents are best suited to gifted and talented students who are not being stretched at school or students who have had shocks and disturbances in life and may have missed some educational opportunities. Some may have been given unhelpful labels.
I have taught at several of the top universities in the UK as well as top schools and colleges.
I specialize in helping students who have found it hard to fit in with normal class room life. My background in psychotherapy and counselling helps me build rapport and bring out the best in students who have had emotional problems at school.
I am concerned with education of the whole person, rather than cramming in knowledge just to get through that exam.
I teach poetry at the Ashmolean Museum, a branch of Oxford University, and bring a depth of understanding to my work with people from nine to ninety. I have four grown up children.
I also work as a supply teacher to local schools in English, drama, music and psychology

Tends to go off on a bit of a tangent, and doesn`t really offer much help, he`s mainly there for you to tell him everything you know as opposed to teaching you anything new whether that`s exam technique or subject content, instead he`ll recommend you to read some books or watch some movies in the hope that you`ll learn something from them. Generally not very useful, it only took us one lesson for me to realize he wasn`t the tutor I was hoping for
Tutors Response :
Mathew is clearly an intelligent student who is capable of doing well at A level. In a first lesson I always try to assess the knowledge and learning ability of my students so that I can pitch my input accordingly. I ascertained that he was primarily interested only in improving his grade. However, as part of my assessment I tried to explore with him a wider and deeper perspective on a subject he was currently studying that I am very knowledgeable on. He turns out to have been uninterested in this. Having made a second appointment, he then cancelled saying "Something has come up". I wish him great success.

Tutors Response :
Sorry tutor hunt has been chasing you. Nothing to do with me. I guess they are trying a bit too hard to improve their service
