Professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (BSc, 1st class Hons, UEA), Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh, Wales), Membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK), and a PGCert in Health Research. Over 40 Research papers focusing on cardiovascular disease, surgery and medical education. Over 17 academic prizes. 45 National/International presentations. Regularly peer reviewing for 18 well-cited journals and sitting on several national cardiovascular committees (BCIS, BJCA). Current patron of BUCA.

Currently completing an MRC-funded clinical PhD at Norwich Medical School and working as a Trial Physician and Trial Manager (due to complete in 2019, student ID: 3036596/3). Responsible for two basic science studies (Birmingham Medical School) and three NHS-based clinical research trials (sites: Norwich, Cambridge and London). Trained in SPSS and STATA.

Currently completing the Warwick Business School distance MBA (due to complete 2020, student ID: 1767278). Areas of interest include healthcare operations management and strategic advantage.

Personal interests: mountain climbing (Yorkshire 3-Peaks [2015], Mount Toubkal, Morocco [2016], Mount Snowdon [2017]), acting (Cast in The Souvenir, 2017), fund-raising and charity (Naval and Military Lodge, no. 3678).

Tutoring Experience: I have over 9 years of tutoring experience to date. My students have all done very well and achieved excellent grades. I enjoy tutoring and feel that at 32 years old I am not intimidating or too ‘teacher-like’, but instead I act more as a mentor. I engage with my students and teach them the art of science, and nurture their ability to succeed.

Alongside tutoring, I am also able to help students on coursework projects/dissertations by offering advice, guidance, proof-reading, and editing. I will also consider any other tutoring tasks, such as preparing students for medical entry examinations (including UKCAT, GAMSAT etc). I am also happy to teach small groups of students (max number 5). I have a fantastic office facility at my home from which all my tutoring is based.

Tutoring Approach: I am able to tutor biology students from GCSE through to degree level and all other science students to GCSE level. My methods will aim to make learning enjoyable for my students, in a relaxed but studious atmosphere and my tutees will find me to be friendly, approachable and patient throughout their support. I will supply all of the learning material required and monitor my students’ progress in order to give them constructive feedback throughout.
