Sheila

I have a first class degree in painting and drawing and I love the science of colour and they way colors work together .

My special interests are impressionism and post-impressionism although I can teach all areas of painting and drawing.
I have travelled extensively to visit collections and exhibitions.

I enjoy teaching and although I am serious about my subject, I have an easy-going friendly personality.

Availability: I am available during the day and early evenings.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have many years experience as a painter. I have taught students at GCSE, A level and foundation level. The teachers who helped me most when I was learning my craft were the ones who could quickly identify exactly what it was that I was not understanding and could provide me with a practical and verbal solution.

I recognised this quality and was grateful for it. I base my own teaching upon those grounds. I can give praise but I also care about the integrity of the teaching and I will say what is not working as well as what is.

Continued growth needs to be nurtured by praise plus constructive criticism, delivered with kindness.
