SATs Specialist & Year 6 Coach | Boosting Confidence & Scores
I am a highly Qualified Primary Teacher and Tutor with QTS with over 20 years of experience. SATS can feel overwhelming for both students and parents, but they don`t have to be. I am a dedicated tutor specialising in the Year 6 curriculum, with a focus on turning "I can`t" into "I can."
I`m also a mum of 3 young boys; my eldest having completed his SATs last year.
Availability: Monday & Tuesday, please enquire for specific time slots currently available.

Experience: Classroom Expertise: With years of experience as a Key Stage 2 teacher (Year 5 and Year 6), I understand the progression of skills needed to reach the expected standard and beyond. I know where the common pitfalls are and how to explain complex concepts in "child-friendly" ways.
Intervention Specialist: I have lead intensive SATs "booster" groups within schools, specifically designed to fast-track progress in Arithmetic, Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension. I am skilled at identifying specific learning gaps and closing them quickly.
Proven Track Record: As a private tutor, I have helped numerous students achieve exceptional results. My students consistently meet their targets, with several achieving Scaled Scores of 110–119, placing them in the top bracket of achievers nationally. I am happy to provide references.
Marking Scheme Knowledge: I teach students how to "play the game"—understanding how marks are awarded in the SPAG, Reading and Reasoning papers so they don`t lose points on technicalities.

My son who is 6 years old, currently in year 2 was struggling at school and underperforming. Therefore I decided to get him a tutor. We have been very fortunate to find Abi who has been helping my son for the last few months. She is very patient and encouraging which has given him new found confidence. He has improved in all aspects of his work and his school teacher who was unaware of Abi`s assistance spoke with myself recently stating that my sons attitude and confidence towards his school work has been amazing and the improvements were very noticeable. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Abi is a patient and fun tutor. She has quickly developed a good rapport with my son, encouraging him in his English and SPAG. Abi has assessed my son’s ability and identified the the grammar areas he still needs to work on. I can see a noticeable improvement in his work since he started his lessons with Abi.

Abi is making such a huge difference to our little boys (6) progress and overall enjoyment at school. He is gaining confidence in every aspect of his school work which is just fantastic to see. he will now happily read me a book every night, enjoys practising his spellings and learning new high frequency words!
