I took a First in History at the University of Cambridge, followed by an MPhil and PhD there. I have taught at top independent senior schools for 10 years, and a variety of A-level topics (medieval, early modern, including Tudor and Stuart Britain, and modern 18th and 19th Century Britain and Europe, as well as 20th Century Europe). At IGCSE (both Edexcel and CIE) I have taught International Relations 1919-39, Cold War 1945-89, Weimar and Nazi Germany and the Russian Revolution/Soviet Russia.
Availability: Saturday and Sunday afternoons, some weekday evenings during term time. Flexible during school holidays, including most weekday mornings.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Ten years teaching in top independent schools. Examiner for A-level and Pre-U History. Author of a textbook for AQA A-level `Stuart Britain and the Crisis of Monarchy, 1603-1702` (CUP, 2015) and a biography of King Charles I (Routledge Historical Biographies, 2019).
