In the autumn of my life I have enjoyed fantastic experiences home and abroad and am lucky enough to have six wonderful grown up children.
I enjoy passing on my skills to children and opening their minds to realise their full potential.
My speciality is literacy and I keep myself up to date with new developments.
I have marked English language papers at for AQA for the past ten years. This practice gives me a tremendous insight into what is required by examination boards.
I offer a safe and relaxed environment to promote confidence and learning in your child.
Availability: I am unable to provide tuition in my home at the moment so am offering online tuition as an option.
Mondays and Fridays are available at the moment with a fair degree of flexibility. I am always keen to accommodate your individual needs.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been teaching for almost 40 years but don`t worry - I am not a dinosaur! My speciality is English and EAL but currently I am also tutoring in Maths at Key stages 2 and 3. I have successfully tutored for Entrance examinations at Prep school. Every summer I teach English Courses at a reputable private school. Students from all over the globe attend the courses.
As part of the tuition process, I help the student to consolidate the learning from school enhancing that knowledge to develop their skills and ultimately their confidence in their own ability.
I am a fluent Greek speaker having spent 20 years teaching English in Greece. I have taught literacy and numeracy to adults in college as well as the local secondary school. As a Higher level teaching assistant I taught groups of children at the secondary school. I was responsible for ensuring that SEN provision was delivered to those who needed it.
I have marked for AQA English Language for the past eight years. This gives me a wider view of what is required by different examination boards.
