Information about Karl
I have been Head of Religious Studies in independent schools for over twenty years, successfully preparing students for GCSE, A-level and 13+ RS examinations.
At GCSE level I have taught and tutored all the main exam specifications: AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Eduqas. At A level I specialise in OCR Philosophy, Ethics and Developments in Christian Thought.
I have been consistently rated an `Outstanding` classroom teacher by Ofsted and have attained the prestigious Advanced Skills Teacher status.
I have previously worked as an examiner and assessor for one of the main examination boards.
I quickly inspire in students the desire to achieve their full potential in Religious Studies examinations. I have excellent subject knowledge, plan tuition sessions thoroughly and cater for different levels of ability and learning styles. I provide students with a clear sense of their achievements and targets and ensure parents/carers are kept fully informed about student progress.

With Karl`s help my son achieved an A* for his recent GCSE exams. Although my son goes to a highly academic school, Karl was critical in focusing my son on revision technique and how to answer 4/6/10 mark questions according to exam guidelines. Karl has excellent subject knowledge across exam boards and provided my son with specific and targeted reading materials and quotation banks to be used in meeting the requirements for a Level 9. Karl also used the lesson time very efficiently on making revision notes, rapid questions to check knowledge, checking quotations and also getting my son to write timed answers during the lessons. This helped my son to understand what the examiner requires as opposed to his own knowledge of the subject, which on its own may not have guaranteed a Level 9. I can very highly recommend Karl and only wish we had contacted him much earlier. My son intends to do RS for A Levels and we will be relying on Karl once again. Many thanks, Karl!
