Information about Karin
I am an Austrian native and have lived in England for 18 years. Im very enthusiastic about meeting new people and about teaching my language. I have good people skills and enjoy working with a team or on my own. I always aim to achieve my best not only within myself but for my students as well and I always strive to give them an enjoyable but beneficial learning experience.
Considering, that I am a self-employed German tutor and very flexible with my time.
This allows me to experience a wide range of establishments and teaching techniques .
Availability: I am available to teach during the day, in the evenings and at the weekend and my aim is be very flexible to meet the needs of my learners
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience:
I currently teach business German to managers, directors and engineers at RWE and N-Power and BMW in Oxford
Agriculture University in Cirencester, teaching A-Level to international Agriculture-Business- students.
Intensive German training at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham for soldiers who have been transfer to Germany.
The level of the German ability ranges from beginners to students who have a good knowledge of the German language and need to improve certain aspects of the language
On average I work 20-25 hours a week but this is very flexible with lessons ranging from one to two hours
I teach on a one to one basis but also work with groups between 3-8 people.
There is no specific structure which is applied to all students however I tailor each course individually; at the beginning of each course I speak with the student and ask them what they would like to achieve and then every three months I assess them and give them a report of their progress and what they would like to achieve next
2013-2009: Private tutor
Alongside my job at N-Power and BMW I also teach German to adults, young people and children in the evenings
The course structure varies between student; some students are working towards achieving an A-level or GCSE whilst others may just want to improve their German skills
