My Profile: An outstanding Grammar High school Maths teacher, I teach maths up to A-Levels and beyond and have been teaching for 14 years.

I am a qualified Maths Teacher (QTS) registered with the UK National College of Teaching and Leadership. I work in an outstandingly high achieving Grammar school near London.

So far, I have tutored over 100 students on a 1-1 basis in the past eight years alone. This is over 6000 hours of tutoring (40 weeks for each student a year X 150 students = 6000 hours)!

Moreover, I work as a Grammar school teacher and am required to deliver outstanding lessons by the OFSTED Framework. Hence I have an accurate and in-depth knowledge of the most recent syllabus changes and the exam boards. That, combined with my daily touch of reliable Maths, puts me in a dominant position to very quickly and thoroughly assess the educational needs of a student and then build upon their strengths. Therefore, my lessons are Laser sharp and objective-oriented, wherein I intend to achieve a very concrete goal at the end of each tutoring session.

• Teaching Pedagogy: Most One-2-One tutors simply ‘turn-up-and-teach’ without adequate preparation. Maths is mostly about ‘understanding’ and less about ‘throwing up facts’. A tutor gets ONE CHANCE to impart ‘understanding’ clearly and coherently. Not having prepared and risking an incomplete, confused or incoherent explanation confuses the student rather than build their confidence.

• Regular feedback and homework: Most tutors either set no reading or thoughtlessly set exercises from a textbook containing inappropriate questions. My task is written to complement the lesson, providing some items designed for routine practice and questions designed to challenge the student, encouraging them to ‘think’ and develop their logical capacity.

• Exam Practice: I give students plenty of past paper practice – but only at the right time, once they deeply understand all the individual topics within the syllabus. Far too many tutors use exam papers to ‘teach’ from, which means they are set pieces when the student isn’t ready: The upshot is that the student’s scores fluctuate wildly, and their confidence is destroyed.
The lessons are stimulating, inspirational and cutting edge as I keep a significant hold on my subject.

Experience: Over 16 years of private tutoring (Top Most Maths Tutor in Harrow for 2019-20)
Including 11+, 13+, GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-Level Maths.

With this immense experience, I have developed a straightforward approach. I make the lessons fun and engaging. I try to promote interest in the subject, so learning Maths becomes fun and an ongoing natural process. Students take this into the school environment and start seeing the results immediately. This reduces the burden from Maths, so my students can focus on other subjects and achieve holistically. (It’s not about getting an A* just in Maths. I know that!!)

I am very confident that my charges are excellent value for money because I have delivered outstanding results for my students. Please do not take my word for it. I have many satisfied parents who you can contact before contracting my services. My past students and their parents have often said that they cannot thank me enough for how much I have changed their career possibilities with those A/A* grades in Maths.

In short, I am the Maths A* Specialist.

Please get in touch soon to book your place for exams in May 2020.

We have been very pleased with our daughter’s progress and confidence in maths. Kamal has had a very instrumental role in this. His broad awareness of the subject, drawing on his wealth of resource, and unlocking the key secrets in improving our daughter’s results over the course of the last few years has been great. Kamal’s calm and encouraging style of teaching is also one of his great assets!

Mr. Kamal is very useful when it comes to the tactics and approach for the subject being taught (Mathematics for me).

He is always keen to help, provides enough resources as well as helps you settle in and takes his time to teach you the ways of getting the correct answers. His patience with students makes you come back as he will take his time to make sure you are well prepared for each topic and gives out hints to help achieve the answers.

Always changing times for sessions, only ever had one in the end, and when I did it was a joint online session with someone else which I wasn`t informed about.
I didn`t feel as if I was getting any help when I needed as I had to wait, which had I been told it would be joint sessions, I wouldn`t have accepted.

Do not recommend.

I was looking for a tutor to help my daughter with revision leading up to her GCSE`s in May/June 2019. She needed some help with the higher level questions.

Kamal was very professional in all his communications and from the first lesson my daughter has built up confidence and knowledge. She really enjoys the lessons with him. Kamal provided all of the material and his lessons are very structured. He has spent time explaining some of the harder concepts and my daughter is now feeling much more confident when answering these questions.

I would not hesitate in recommending Kamal to anyone looking for help with maths.

Mr Patel is a fantastic tutor. He was professional yet flexible. We were able to discuss all the requirements over first telephone call and Mr Patel suggested us the timetable accordingly.

After the first lesson, we were very happy with how it was taught. Mr Patel is very empathetic and understands the needs very well. He provides challenging work and I found the lessons very inspirational.

Greatly enjoys his ongoing lessons.

Highly recommended tutor.
