Information about John

About me:

I have over twenty years` experience of teaching Biology to A-level (as well as to Access students, where no prior knowledge was expected) and always achieved virtually a 100% success rate (in terms of University entrance).

In addition I have now been tutoring for over five years and get consistently good feedback from my tutees and their parents:

"Just wanted to say thank you for tutoring [my daughter] over the last 9 months. She seems so much more confident in her understanding of the subject and the exam today, by all accounts, went quite well. We`re really hopeful that she`s got the B grade she needs and don`t think she would be in this position without your help."

"Thank you so much for your help, I definitely wouldn`t have got the B without you!"

"I got a grade in Human Biology which I`m very happy with and would like to thank you very much for your help over the past year."

"Just a quick note to thank you for helping [my son] get an A in his Biology. It really is fantastic."

I have extensive experience of tutoring: from 7 year-olds struggling with their numeracy, through young teenagers working on Key Stage Science and then their GCSEs, on to AS and A2 students who want to get top grades in their A-level Biology examinations. I am familiar with specifications, sample papers and past paper questions from AQA, OCR and Edexcel/SNAB.

Apart from my extensive teaching experience, I have worked as a trainer in personal and career development, so am well placed to deal with issues around self-confidence and mental attitude. I have excellent communication skills, connect easily with people and am empathetic and understanding.

Please Note: I only tutor at my home as there are resources which I use when tutoring, and, in addition, I do not have sufficient time between tutoring sessions to visit students at their homes. Sorry!

John was very welcoming and put my daughter at ease. He was very positive and was able to bring back some of the enthusiasm that she had lost.

Tutors Response :
