I am an experienced graduate, BA Hons History from Nottingham University, and a further Masters of Business Administration from City University Business School, with a supporting Marketing Diploma. I am passionate about History, Economics, Business and English, and have several years’ experience tutoring, coaching and mentoring students.
I am a firm believer that students learn if they are involved in their subject. The more involved a student is in the learning process, the more a student will learn!
My aim is to ensure that my students achieve through active learning and participation with me. By asking questions, and requiring that the student offers explanations for their thoughts, I can quickly understand where students need to improve, and help them with their knowledge, understanding and reasoning.
Nearer exam time, students need assistance with their exam preparations. I work with students on effective exam planning methods and filling the knowledge gaps to provide them with the confidence that they need to succeed in the exams.
Each tutoring session is structured around the student’s requirements. Some students require knowledge, others guidance. Usually there is a requirement for both, and I adapt to the needs of each student.

To avoid confusion about my hourly rate, I would like to advise potential students that the rate advertised of £35 per hour is based on one student during the week day - Monday to Friday. If you require my services at weekends, then my rate is £45 per hour per student. I will consider discount options if there is more than one student at any time.

Availability: Monday - Friday 6.30pm -9.00pm
Saturday and Sunday all day

Experience: I am first and foremost a business person, with management experience in multi-national organisations such as Coca-Cola Schweppes.
However, assisting students achieve their academic aims has always been a keen interest of mine. I have several years teaching experience in GCSE`s and A Levels in Sri Lanka, and have successfully tutored students from there.
