I am an experienced, reliable, patient and friendly tutor who relates well to both adults and children. I have experience of teaching literacy, numeracy and creative writing to all ages, both children and adults and I try to make it interesting and fun, as well as providing a good learning experience.

I carry out all tutoring in your own home and will arrange a (free) pre-teaching visit, lasting about 30 minutes, so that you can have a chat with me prior to commencing teaching. This is so that you have sight of all documents required (CRB, Qualifications etc.) and we can discuss your requirements. Also, it means the student (child or adult) can get to know me a little before starting, and they are not so nervous when the first session begins. I have a number of private pupils in Stockton, Billingham, Redcar and Middlesbrough whose parents would be happy to provide a reference.

Availability: In person by arrangement.

During the current Coronavirus pandemic I am tutoring online only.

Experience: I have been a teacher for over 25 years, but have taught Literacy/English for 20 years and Numeracy/Maths for 12 years. I am able to work with all learning abilities and have taught both one-to-one and classroom based.

I use a variety of colourful and 3 dimensional resources, as well as the computer, to aid learning, so that all students can understand the variety of concepts needed to grasp the basic rules of both literacy and numeracy.

I teach Literacy for KS2, English Language and Literature up to and including GCSE/A level, Numeracy/maths from primary to year 9.
