Information about Judith

I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor. I recognise that many students have lost confidence in their subject, and often this affects their performance in other subjects as well. I aim to rebuild this confidence and make learning fun, with lessons always tailored to the student`s needs.
Before entering education full-time in 2005, I worked in engineering for nearly twenty years - glamorous things like automating steel mills and printing presses! - but I have always been involved in tutoring, having taught adults in IT and business and youngsters in maths, science and music. I have also been a marker for KS3 Maths SATs, schools visiting moderator for level 3 ICT, and an examiner for GCSE/iGCSE science and GCE (A-level) ICT. This means I know exactly the sort of things examiners are looking for, which helps tremendously when it comes to exam preparation. I am now back in industry, still in an educational role, (and still doing real-life computing).
I strongly believe that everyone deserves the opportunities that learning can bring. I love my subjects and hope that my enthusiasm comes over!

Judith has tutored our son from year 9 through to GCSE on all 3 sciences. He is very bright and very dyslexic and we asked her to follow up any subjects where he was slow to take notes in class or generally felt under confident. I can`t recommend Judith highly enough for the level of engagement and care she has shown throughout, and the results prove this has been a worthwhile journey, both in grades and in the confidence our son has maintained. Judith has deep domain knowledge, a focused and patient teaching style and a strong knowledge of exam requirements and technique. Just a huge thank you from us.

Tutors Response :

Thank you Claire - it has been a pleasure supporting your son and I wish him all the best for the future.

Judith was a great tutor to our daughter and within an 8 month period increased her knowledge and confidence so she passed her GCSE and at a higher grade than her school originally predicted for her. Without Judith I`m sure she`d have failed and been so disappointed and upset but her grade is perfect for the course she wants to take now (and she`s got her college place!)
