I am an experienced and enthusiastic tutor. I recognise that many students have lost confidence in their subject, and often this affects their performance in other subjects as well. I aim to rebuild this confidence and make learning fun, with lessons always tailored to the student`s needs.
Before entering education full-time in 2005, I worked in engineering for nearly twenty years - glamorous things like automating steel mills and printing presses! - but I have always been involved in tutoring, having taught adults in IT and business and youngsters in maths, science and music. I have also been a marker for KS3 Maths SATs, schools visiting moderator for level 3 ICT, and an examiner for GCSE/iGCSE science and GCE (A-level) ICT. This means I know exactly the sort of things examiners are looking for, which helps tremendously when it comes to exam preparation.
I am now back in industry, still in an educational role, (and still doing real-life computing).
I strongly believe that everyone deserves the opportunities that learning can bring. I love my subjects and hope that my enthusiasm comes over!

Availability: Weekday evenings/late afternoon

Experience: Several years’ experience (100+ students) 1-to-1 tutoring maths, science (combined and separate), ICT, music theory.
Teaching Business and Computing at the local FE college.
Tutor year 8 upwards, also adults.
