My name is Javier, and I am a native Spanish speaker who has been living in the UK since 2010. I bring extensive experience in education, having taught Spanish, Italian, Literacy, and Numeracy to children, teenagers, and adults both in South America and in England.

I am currently completing my Initial Teacher Training in a secondary school, where I am gaining hands-on experience in classroom teaching and curriculum delivery.

Over the years, I have worked closely with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those in Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting learners with challenges such as dyslexia and difficulties in literacy and numeracy. I have also contributed to the delivery of English GCSE lessons to Year 11 students.

I hold a 2:1 degree in English Language and Literature, which has further enriched my approach to language teaching and support.

I am pleased to offer private tuition to help learners achieve their full potential in the following areas:

Spanish for all ages – GCSE, A-level, DELE exam preparation, conversational Spanish for relocation or travel, or simply for the joy of learning.

Italian – Key Stage 2 or support for learners with Special Educational Needs.

Literacy – Key Stage 2.

Numeracy – Key Stage 2.

Literacy and Numeracy support – Tailored sessions for children with Special Educational Needs.

4 years as a Teaching Assistant in Leeds, UK, providing tailored support to pupils with learning disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and reach their potential.

5 years as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) specialising in literacy and English, taking responsibility for planning and delivering targeted interventions and supporting classroom teaching.

7 years as a private Spanish tutor in Leeds, UK, working one-to-one with learners of all ages to build their confidence and fluency in Spanish.

4 years’ experience as a Teacher of Spanish in a primary school, successfully delivering the MFL curriculum and fostering enthusiasm for languages from an early age.

This wide-ranging experience has equipped me with strong pedagogical skills, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to inclusive education.
