Jane

Hello. My name is Jane and I currently work part-time as a teacher and private tutor, university tutor, language consultant, bilingual tour guide, author and examiner. I hold two BA Honours degrees, one in German and History and one in Spanish and French. As well as my P.G.C.E. I hold the CELTA qualification and offer English as a foreign language. I am currently studying for a master`s degree in linguistics and am picking up a bit of beginner`s Italian.

Availability: Online (distance is no issue) and face to face. The events of recent months have given me a lot of experience teaching online!
I am very flexible depending on my existing bookings. I can offer day times, evenings, Saturday mornings. We will arrange everything to be mutually convenient. If you need to alter the time to fit around your schedule, I am happy to change to suit you.

Experience: I am very confident to teach online (using for example Skype, Zoom, Teams) and face to face. I have taught for 33 years (13 as a Head of Dept). I teach German to all levels and exams, French and Spanish to GCSE. I also teach English as a foreign language, and offer IELTS & Cambridge Examination preparation as well as English for Academic Purposes. I have a lot of experience with different examination boards at GCSE and A level ( I am an examiner for 2 boards and an NVQ assessor for Business German and French) and have conducted hundreds of speaking tests at GCSE and A level. I have taught students from Key Stage 2 to adults and of a wide range of abilities, and currently teach part time at two local universities, where I teach to all levels from complete beginner to degree level (B2-C1).
