Welcome, I’m James and I have been tutoring students in and around Exeter for the last 15 years.

I cover maths from Key Stage 2 to A-level and chemistry from GCSE to A-level. In addition, I place a strong emphasis on the importance of study skills.

I am DBS checked and have classroom experience. I offer a friendly, personalised approach and my aim is always to be as helpful as possible.


I encourage parents to come along to the first lesson at least. They are always welcome to stay and listen or to sit next door.

Usually at my home in Exeter, though I can come to yours you live in the Exeter area.

Lessons cost £30 an hour.

I live in St Thomas, Exeter, and my other main work involves teaching maths and computing to adults. Previously I have taught chemistry at 6th form colleges in Cambridge and Exeter.
