Information about James
I graduated from Loughborough University in 2006 with a degree in Economics and Politics before completing my PGCE in Business Education at the University of Warwick in 2007. In 2011 I completed my Masters Degree in Business and Enterprise Education, also at the University of Warwick. I am an experienced Head of Department and am an approachable tutor, who will try his best to get you the grades you deserve!
Availability: I am available most week-day evenings between 5pm and 9pm and at weekends.

Experience: I have been working as a qualified teacher for nearly 15 years now. I worked for two years at a top performing Grammar School in Warwickshire, before becoming the Head of Business Studies and Economics at an independent school in Milton Keynes. From there I returned to the state sector where I was the Director of Progress for Business and Economics at a large secondary school for four years, before moving to my current role as Head of Economics at a large semi-rural secondary school in Northamptonshire.

We sought James`s assistance in my daughter`s final year of `A` level business studies as was shocked by her level of knowledge on core elements of her course from her school tuition and poor mock results. James has a relaxed but professional style which she found extremely encouraging and positive to work with. They worked well together so were confident she could recover her to at least a `B` grade minimum, however Covid / lockdown meant she was unable to take her actual exam. Given her prior poor results prior to James, we continued with the tuition with a view to taking a resit in the October. Fortunately after her reassessment of initial forecast to instead take teacher predictions via centre of excellence she was awarded a `B` grade. She did not have to sit the final exams however this prediction was based upon the results and support she had been given by James. In addition the investment was completely justified as her understanding of the subject material is now excellent. We are truly grateful for his support and cannot recommend him highly enough.
