Information about Hannah
Who else can say that they have been tutoring since they were 7 years old?
Having started out helping younger children with their work in a bid to boost my own confidence at school, I am now an experienced tutor with 16 years of `official` tuition under my belt.
In summer 2010 I graduated in English Literature and French and went straight into teaching English as a Foreign Language, completing my CELTA certification in December of that year. Since then I have focused on mainstream education as well, working in schools on a one-to-one/small group basis and assisting in classrooms to learn the Primary curriculum and my specialist subjects by heart!
As well as tutoring, I work as a Family Learning Associate, teaching parents, grandparents and their young ones what they need to know to succeed both in and out of school.
I am fluent in French and began speaking it when I was just six years old. I have au paired in France, also studying at the University of Lyon III for a year. I also became a `G.O Mini Club` at Club Med in Opio, Southern France for 6 weeks to polish my colloquial French and work with some fantastic children and their families
Having found my schooling a mix of the good, the bad and the terrible I`ve come to realise that education should be relevant to the individual learner; if it`s not made interesting, it will not be learnt. It`s through building a good rapport with students and discovering their learning methods and needs that this can be achieved.
I am ready and willing to tutor students of any age in English (literature/language), English as a Foreign Language, French and History.
Outside of teaching, I adore live music, singing in choirs and attending open mic events. I also love visiting museums, theatre, photography and cuddling my friend`s two moggies, Pirate and Daisy.
Availability: I`m updating this weekly - if I can`t make a day/time that suits you, get in touch and I`ll see what I can do.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have 16 years` experience as a tutor, teaching English, French and English as a Foreign Language as my main job.
DBS Check: Yes
