Information about Gurdip
I currently teach Mathematics at a renowned private school and achieved a First Class Honours in my Mathematics degree. I went on to gain my PGCE at Cambridge University. I have taught in top selective schools throughout my career. I am therefore extensively qualified to tutor in my subject. I am proud to say that I achieved my dream of becoming a teacher (rated Outstanding) in a subject that I am truly passionate about. I take pride in punctuality, professionalism and excellence.
Please be aware that I also offer cheaper 1-4 group rates. During the pandemic, I will only be offering online lessons.
Availability: Largely flexible.
I am prepared to teach in groups for a cheaper rate. I charge extra for travelling to a house.
Willing to travel: 1 miles
Experience: I am currently teaching at a renowned private school (ages 11-18) and therefore DBS checked. I previously taught at the best grammar school in London (Source: The Times) where I was appointed as Curriculum Leader of Key Stage 3 very early in my career. This role involved creating and maintaining the school`s scheme of work which includes the provision and development of educational resources. This means that I have accumulated an abundance of rich materials which extend mathematical understanding.
Having worked in esteemed and competitive schools throughout my career, I specialise in stretching students to achieve top grades. I have taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level classes for 8 years so I am confident with the content, demonstrating expert subject knowledge.
Initially, I discuss with students and parents what they would like to achieve from tutoring and assess the student`s current ability. With a plan in place, lessons can begin. It is important that students do not simply memorise a method or a formula. In order to excel in mathematics, students must have a deep understanding of why methods work and why processes are done in the way that they are. This, in my opinion, means that students become proficient mathematicians rather than simply memorising methods to get by.
At the end of the lesson I would highlight the progress made in that time and discuss plans for the next lesson. Parents are regularly updated on the progress of their child.
Thank you for reading my profile.

Feedback For Gurdip (1)
Emmanuel (Mr)
12/02/2019
Gurdip is an excellent tutor and she is really thorough with the work she does with her tutees especially when giving feedback. My youngest brother started Maths sessions with her a month ago and in that time, he has made a significant amount of progress. I have nothing but positive comments for Gurdip and would most definitely recommend her.
Tutors Response :
