I am a Chinese born in Malaysia and I am fluent in 5 languages, namely Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien), English, Spanish, Malay and Indonesian. Over the years of exposure in diverse cultures and languages, I did not only use all these languages for communication but to conduct profound research into the morphosyntax, semantics, lexicology, phonetics, phonology, methods and approaches for teaching, writing of specific didactic materials, the use of class room media, the philosophy behind the teaching and learning of a foreign language, the summative and formative assessment of learners, the society from multicultural and intercultural aspects and to incorporate the induction of language teaching in the national curriculum which have prompted me to take the diploma of the Formation of Spanish Teacher as a Second Language. The result has proven my understanding of all the aspects to learning a foreign language regardless its linguistic typology, such as Agglutinative, Isolating, Fusional and Synthetic languages. My lifetime research into the linguistic fields has been more than rewarding and challenging and one that a three year degree would not yield.
