Information about Gema
I am a native Spanish speaker and a fully qualified secondary school teacher in the UK.
I can teach Spanish from KS2 to University level.
Hour rate:
£25
Availability: Days and afternoons Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings

Experience: I am a qualified teacher with experience teaching in several secondary schools in London. I have also been helping GCSE and A Level students to prepare for their Spanish exams through private tuition for several years. As a result, I am particularly familiar with the exam specifications of Edexcel and AQA Examination Boards.
At present, as well as working as a private tutor I teach GCSE/ A Level Spanish at an independent school, and I work as a Part-time Bilingual Support Worker with Surrey County Council supporting pupils with Spanish as a first language in Primary and Secondary schools.
Languages are often perceived as a difficult and boring subject to learn, for this reason I am particular interested in teaching grammar communicatively using authentic resources whenever possible. Also, for one to one tutoring I try to learn as much as possible about the needs of the student so I can tailor the lessons accordingly.

Gema is a great tutor. She is very professional and have many resources to ensure the learning is the most appropriated and suited for the student needs. Gema is also a very gentle and calm tutor. My daughter enjoys her Spanish lessons with her and she always looks forward to the next lesson.

I can state without any reservation that Gemma is the best tutor/ teacher my daughter has had. My daughter was achieving low grades in her school Spanish exams. Therefore, in the year leading up to the Edexel IGCSE Spanish exam, my daughter was tutored by Gemma. Not only is Gemma familiar with the requirements of the exam boards but knows how to bring the very best out in her student. My daughter loved going to the tutorials and found Gemma patient and kind as well as making learning enjoyable. We are delighted that my daughter had Grade A in her GCSE exam.
