Information about Gary

I have extensive ICT experience in both education and industry. My academic qualifications include HNC Computing, a BSc (hons) in Business Information Technology and a PGCE in Secondary Education specialising in ICT. I am currently employed as a part-time teacher of ICT & Computer Science at a local secondary school and as a part time teacher of IB MYP Digital Design at a local private school. I have taught ICT to primary school children, and at all secondary levels covering GCSE, OCR Nationals,Cambridge Nationals, BTEC Firsts and AS/A2 Applied ICT and MYP Digital Design. As well as ICT I have also taught Business & Communication Systems to GCSE level and am currently teaching GCSE computing. Prior to commencing my teaching career, I worked as an ICT Project Manager/Consultant for a variety of organisations, including a software publisher and a dot trading platform.

I have experience of writing programs in Scratch, BYOB/Snap and Python. I also have some experience of Visual Basic

I hold an enhanced DBS (CRB) certificate.

(Please Note: Travel expenses may be charged for both time & fuel depending on location. For students attending sessions at my home, I have a suitable room for training, including a computer for student use and a large screen display for presentations)

Important Note: The "First Lesson Free" is given by charging reduced price for the first few lessons (Tutor Hunt requests tutors to provide the first lesson free, however some students only require 1 lesson so I make a reduced charge for the first 2 or 3 lessons, however you must request this on arrival.
