Information about Dilwar

Every student WILL pass - I take a positive and highly motivated approach to tutoring and believe in the importance of building self confidence through accessible, creative and memorable learning experiences.

I am a fully qualified teacher of English working full-time in an OFSTED rated outstanding secondary school, with access to all the relevant resources to ensure exam success. I offer one-to-one tuition and have been teaching privately to Primary, Secondary and A-level students in Bedfordshire since 2007.

I deliver informal, relaxed classes with great emphasis on building a positive attitude towards both education and personal life, which I believe leads to improved motivation and determination to succeed.

As well as a degree in English Literature, I also hold a CELTA qualification, which places emphasis on good understanding and teaching of the fundamentals of the English language.

Prior to entering a career in teaching, I worked as a qualified journalist specialising in UK Home Affairs.

I am well versed in Teeline shorthand and happy to help any prospective journalist(s) acquire the skill, or those simply wishing to learn shorthand for professional reasons.

As an experienced reporter, I can teach news writing and interviewing methods, as well as media law and general editorial/writing skills. This also ties in well to non-fiction modules within the English curriculum.

Please note: Minimum age for students of journalism is 16.

Availability: Evenings and weekends.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been teaching Primary, GCSE and A-level English since 2007. I currently work full-time in an OFSTED rated Outstanding secondary school.
