I am an enthusiastic and creative educator and I have been employed as a teacher for almost 35 years. I have taught chemistry in a variety of schools both in the UK and abroad. I now work part-time for St.Clares, Oxford where I am the Director of the IB Institute. My role involves the organisation of revision courses for students as well as training courses for teachers. I normally take on up to about about 10 -15 GCSE, AS, A2 or IB students each year as I love chemistry and find the process of sharing it with others thoroughly rewarding.
Availability: Flexible - Weekdays 9.00 - 20.00 except Wednesday.

Experience: I have almost 35 years` experience teaching chemistry at GCSE, AS, and A2 as well as Higher and Standard Level IB. I have written GCSE chemistry texts for Pearson and Nelson Thornes and I was a content author for the New Media Multimedia Science School 16-18 project. I have been the Head of Science in two different schools.

My daughter seems to be getting on very well with David. He is able to go at her pace and is good at filling in the missing building blocks so hopefully success will follow.

David has a really good approach with students, very relaxed but informative. After the first lesson our son commented that he had learnt more in that hour than in a year at school. David really engages the student.
