Information about David
I am a University of Oxford Graduate Scholar and published expert in Learning and Teaching. Winner of the Oxford Education Society Award for Learning and Teaching, I am presently the Director of Curriculum Enrichment and Head of Lower School Science in a top 1% school in Berkshire having taught in both state and independent sectors with success in the highest achieving schools in the country. This term I will have space for a just a few tutees in or around the areas of Caversham Heights, Sonning Common, Sonning, Emmer Green, Mapledurham and Kidmore End, Henley and Reading who would like some help improving their grades in GCSE and A level Sciences.
I have a warm, friendly and engaging style with experience of delivering a full complement of A* grades (or Lv.9 at GCSE level) for my clients across the Sciences. Most of my A level students go on to study at American universities, Oxford, Cambridge and a variety of other excellent red-brick universities but some enjoy fulfilling their potential in other vocational settings as well. Your first lesson with me is free, where we discuss your individual needs, go through notes, papers and reports and it is a good chance to get to know each other.
As an experienced teacher in all areas of science education and research, working in the most academically high achieving schools in the country I have been the teaching school sciences at the top independent and state secondary schools in the country for over 12 years. I have an exceptional academic career record in all areas. My qualifications and experience are in teaching KS3, GCSE (and now IGCSE), International Baccalaureate, BTEC and AS/A-level Sciences (11-18 years) at both state and independent secondary schools since 2007/8.
As an experienced tutor visiting students for 1-to-1 lessons in the comfort of their own homes, you are always most welcome to have your parents or carer observe and participate in sessions and I insist that children under the age of 18 have a responsible adult in the house at all times as part of good teaching professional practice.
You may also have your own group lessons for revision classes if you have the need with groups of your friends and peers where group discounts or longer sessions can be arranged. These have been very successful in the past. Maximum group sizes I can arrange are upto 20-30 and as few as 3.
Rated twice by OFSTED as outstanding (2009 / 2012) and awarded the Oxford University Education Society Award for my contribution to Learning and Teaching in education (2014) you are in the safest hands to get the results that you need for ongoing academic success.

David is a very enthusiastic and effective tutor. My child will take her GCSE`s this year and is happy to work with him. My younger son has also asked for David. We would be happy to commend him to anyone seeking additional help with sciences.
