As a full-time, professional tutor based in central Salisbury I am passionate about enabling students to achieve their full potential.

I have tutored students from a wide range of schools throughout the area, including many from South Wilts, Bishops Wordsworth, Godolphin and Marlborough and I am fully versed in all exam boards and specifications.

As a tutor I see my role as much more than that of a classroom teacher. I place importance on finding the source of any problems that the student may have and getting to know the students learning style to enable me to tailor our lessons and revision tactics towards them so that their revision time is maximised and not wasted.

I pride myself on my ability to make complex topics less daunting and enabling my students to see through any confusion and to actually understand their work, overcoming their problems to be able to excel. I aim to build a strong rapport and friendly relationship and I want my students to feel comfortable asking me any questions about their work, no matter how silly they make think their question is, if it will help their understanding it is vital!

I am a very patient tutor and I believe that everyone learns in their own unique way. If a student does not understand a topic when explained in a certain way I will go out of my way to find an explanation that will click for them - there is always a way.

Exam practice is vital for students and I have access to all exam papers and mark schemes for each exam board. I will provide my students with these materials as well as additional practice papers that I have produced myself. In additional to this we will work through papers together to ensure that the student is fully confident in their exam technique and that they know exactly what to expect come exam day.

In these strange times we are currently in I am particularly sensitive to the stress that students are under having missed teaching time at school. This stress is something that I believe it important to address early on and to work with the student to make a plan for the year ahead - this is too ensure that they know that they can still achieve their goals and to put the power back in their court.

I am able to offer the flexibility of online or in person lessons in my dedicated office and I have invested in an iPad Pro which enables me to write on screen in live time for students to see, annotating exam papers and writing notes just like we would in person with the added advantage of being able to email it across after our lesson. Whether this is preferred as an alternative to in person tuition or just a useful extra in the event of self isolation I hope this will provide my students with an added feeling of security and support in the knowledge I am with them for the whole year no matter what.

***I am currently offering Intensive Revision Courses for the Autumn Term for people who are in Year 10,11, 12 and 13 and are either resitting in the Autumn or want to rapidly improve after the time away from school - these are currently being offered at 25 hours tuition for £1000 per person per subject, in person or online (20% discount) and in addition to this I will provide ongoing support and coaching via email/messaging to keep motivation levels high - for more information please enquire (limited places available)***
