Information about Benjamin
I`m a 26 year old post-graduate currently residing in Epsom with a keen interest in natural sciences and life sciences. I`m a committed and passionate tutor and have been tutoring for over 8 years. January 2020: I am extremely busy at the moment and can only really accept adhoc or short term students e.g. for help with coursework or other assignments, but please feel free to contact me regardless.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, fun and supportive. I`m very passionate about geography and hopefully some of that enthusiasm will rub off on you in our sessions! I`m well equipped with the knowledge, experience and resources to address any problems you have, be it exam technique, the Hjulstrom curve or those pesky statistics. I hope to go on from university to become a teacher of geography so any experience I can get now would be invaluable and greatly appreciated. I feel I would be able to provide a great advantage for your child as I am familiar with most of the syllabuses (AQA, OCR, Edexcel etc.) used by schools in my subjects.
Although I am not a practicing teacher, I feel that my fresh working knowledge of the courses and their demands gives me insight that others would lack. Having finished with them only a few years ago myself, I am well equipped to prepare another for anything an exam board can throw at them.
Availability: I usually prefer evenings, as I have to fit tutoring around my work commitments.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring young people aged 11 to 18 for over 8 years, achieving excellent results in Common Entrance exam, GCSE and A Level. I am an Education Officer for Surrey Wildlife Trust at Nower Wood in Leatherhead, where I work with pupils ranging from KS1 to A Level, teaching them a wide variety of ecologically-related source material from the National Curriculum and about the wood itself. I am also a qualified Level 2 Forest School practitioner and took part in a SPLATS programme, which is about teaching science to young children at a KS2/KS3 level.
Outside of teaching I have plenty of experience to show dedication to my subjects. Before working full time in the environmental sector, I worked voluntarily with the Natural History Museum assisting in lab work, and with my local Borough Council Countryside Team to help with their conservation efforts in local reserves.
