Information about Olubunmi
I am a dedicated and evidence-driven Mathematics educator with over a decade of experience teaching and improving maths outcomes across secondary schools and sixth form. I specialise in helping students build confidence, master mathematical concepts, and achieve strong results in KS3, GCSE and A Level Mathematics.
My approach adapts strong subject knowledge from my background in Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science to suit learners of all abilities. I focus on developing understanding rather than memorisation, using clear explanations, guided reasoning, and targeted feedback to move students forward.
Throughout my career, I have led teaching and learning initiatives, supported curriculum development, and coached teachers to improve instructional quality. These leadership experiences sharpen my ability to diagnose learning gaps quickly and apply strategies that accelerate progress.
I have served as Innovation Leader and ECT Mentor at Harris Garrard Academy, previously Deputy Head of Mathematics at Haberdashers Askes Knights Academy, and a Mathematics Teacher across multiple schools, consistently improving student attainment and engagement.

I believe effective tuition requires one to tailor the style of approach to the specific needs of the tutee. Everyone is different, so it`s a matter for the tutor to identify just how the student would be most receptive to the information being imparted. Whether it`s a matter of building confidence in the subject, or approaching a certain concept from a different angle, I believe that one should tailor the method of teaching to the specific needs of the one being taught.
