As a full-time tutor, I`m dedicated to helping my students achieve what they need to achieve in order to follow their chosen path in higher education or career. Keeping in touch with local schools, I`m able to help with any problems you might have with your course. I can contact teachers and examinations officers if that helps.

There have been big changes in the maths and science courses at GCSE (my speciality) and it has involved a great deal of work to keep up with the new information from all the exam boards. But it`s essential to know the details!

I have a wide interest in science and run local science events for the public called science cafes.

I also teach home-schooled children.

Availability: In theory, I`m available at any time, so I should be able to find a time that`s good for you.
During the covid pandemic, I`m doing online sessions using skype, interactive white-board and Google Drive. All my teaching resources are online now, so this is a very flexible way to work. Let me know if you`d like more information about how sessions work.

Experience: Over the last 25+ years, I`ve worked with many inspirational people learning about teaching and learning methods, especially accelerated learning. I`ve tried and tested many ways to help students become confident, independent learners, able to plan their time and learn quickly without forgetting, while not getting stressed. My attitude is that if a student doesn`t understand something, then I`ll find another way to explain. That`s my job. I am very patient!

Lessons can include a number of objectives: 1) keeping up to date with school work to make sure the student doesn`t fall behind 2) working through the curriculum, making sure we cover everything, 3) working through past exam papers and specimen papers so that the exam are a formality. I teach face to face in Bristol (when not subject to a pandemic!) and over the internet.
