I am an enthusiastic chemist who enjoys teaching. I am able to put across the key points of a subject in a way that is accessible to the particular students I am teaching.

Experience: I have recently retired from teaching Chemistry at a local independent school, where I specialised in Chemistry and covered all levels from year 7 to A-level.
For the past 9 years, I have been an examiner marking A-level Chemistry exams for the Edexcel exam board.

We contacted Barry after my daughter was caught up in the A level Grades mix up and was expecting to have to retake her Chemistry A Level. Barry was very prompt to reply to any communication and called us to discuss our daughter`s learning style and expectations in detail before we decided to have our first lesson. He was not at all phased by her processing difficulties and gave us confidence that he was able to accommodate these. At the trial lesson he was friendly, welcoming, calm, patient and professional. He explained everything clearly, gave our daughter plenty of time to process the questions and her replies and listened carefully to her. She was awarded the Teacher Grade she needed so we only had one lesson with Barry but my daughter was very comfortable with his teaching style and had we needed to continue tutoring, we would definitely have carried on her lessons with Barry. He was never pushy about us using him as a tutor and we would definitely recommend him.
