Information about Michael
Hi, my name is Michael and I have been tutoring privately - with great success - for many years.
I am a qualified teacher (PGCE + QTS) with classroom experience across a range of subjects, age groups and abilities. Typically, I specialise in A level Maths/Physics/Statistics/Mechanics but I have vast experience of the various Maths/Physics GCSE programmes also.
I previously completed a PhD via In-Situ Synchrotron X-ray Scattering Studies of Atomic Structure and Surface Adsorbates at the (electrified) Solid/Liquid Interface (Physics). I also hold a First Class degree (Physics) and the top national mathematics A-level score (national prize winner) from 2002 with the AQA exam board (averaging 96.7% across 6 exams, within 3 of which I obtained full marks).
I have classroom experience of teaching primary/secondary/A-level/undergraduate students, and sessions are tailored to each student`s requirements, both academically and otherwise. I have developed various methods over the last 15 years which are specifically designed to enable students to significantly improve their comprehension, enjoyment, and exam performance within Maths and Physics programmes.
I have a genuine enthusiasm for the 1-2-1 tuition dynamic, and my references speak for themselves. An excellent tutor who has helped my daughter immensely with her Math`s A level. Michael is both patient and easy to understand - has been able to improve my daughter`s understanding and confidence in a number of topic areas. He is also responsive to her needs and prepared and able to adjust and make sensible suggestions about how to plan and approach the preparation for exams in different situations. Highly recommended.

Michael is an excellent tutor. Patient, versatile and solid communications, all the while maintaining a relaxed but focused atmosphere during lessons. He managed to boost my sons predicted A-level grade for Physics as required, and offered great insights and tools that he continues to use in his studies.
