"I had Anne for a year and a half and she was absolutely brilliant! I owe so much to her for helping me achieve my grade and enabling me to reach my goal of going to Uni and studying to become a PE teacher.
The help Anne offered was exceptional! She took things at my pace and was always friendly. I am really grateful for Anne`s help."
Tracey - parent
"Anne came into our home to tutor our son Gavin when he had been trying to get through his `A` levels at home due to health problems. Bullying at school also made him a worrier, with no confidence in either himself, his own abilities or teachers. With care, understanding and constant support from Anne he learned he could trust a teacher and with time and Anne`s work we could not believe the change in our son, in both his academic achievements, his confidence levels and his own personal belief in himself. With Anne`s continuing, help Gavin passed his `A` level human biology with a high B and i also know thanks to Anne`s gentle persuasion ,she gave him the strength and confidence to go on to university."

Experience: Having qualified as a teacher over 30 years ago I then taught in the F.E. sector for 8 years at Huntingdon Technical College. I took a short break while my children were young. For 21 years I taught in a state secondary school both full and part time. I have had managerial experience as Head of Biology and Gifted and Talented co-ordinator. Since retiring from the classroom I successfully tutor the sciences and maths to an increasingly high number of students each year.
Teaching and learning are complex processes whose success relies on a trusting relationship between student and teacher. Initially, I will question, listen, challenge and probe to discover a student depth of knowledge and ability to think scientifically whilst gently building the rapport needed to progress. This will enable me to identify areas of weakness and work at developing confidence in expressing ideas orally and in writing. Practising exam questions will help develop in-depth understanding and skills of problem solving and analysis.
