Information about Andrew
I am a Maths Teacher with over 17 years experience in both teaching and tutoring secondary school mathematics. I currently teach at a leading independent school in Greater London. I usually tutor online or at my house at a mutually convenient time, ideally during weekdays after school or evening (also during school holidays as required). I am very punctual and reliable. I can provide materials such as past exam papers or text books if required. I have successfully tutored many pupils to achieve success in both GCSE and A-levels. My approach is to get the student to think things out for themselves and enable them to gain confidence as they realise that they can answer questions successfully . I encourage students to tell me if, after an explanation, they still are not sure, so that I can try to explain it in a different way.
As a current teacher I am fully conversant with the changes to the GCSE and A-level and so am able to fully prepare my students for the new challenges these exams present. I have access to the new style of questions and so am able to provide sufficient exposure to the in depth problem solving type questions which now feature. I encourage my students to make the most of the education system, to develop themselves as individuals as well as succeed in their exams. I assess each student`s progress over time to highlight strengths and weaknesses. Most of all, I make sure my students enjoy learning!
I have taught all secondary school ages including A-level. At A level I have taught all the pure maths modules and have taught mechanics and statistics. I have also many years experience in one to one tuition whilst teaching. I currently teach at a private school in Reigate.
I have the equipment to tutor effectively online and feel that this is now just as productive as in person tuition.

Feedback / references from recent tutees :
"Thank you for supporting Alex over the last few months with his maths. He felt very confident with his recent statistics paper, which is encouraging. His confidence in maths has definitely grown over the last few months and he is busy revising for C3 and C4 with a positive approach."
Reference from previous A-level + GCSE tutee :"Andrew has been tutoring my son, Michael, for approximately 2 years . Andrew`s input has been very helpful to Michael. Andrew is always pleasant and punctual.I would recommend Andrew as a maths tutor "
Michael went on to achieve an A at GCSE and I continued tutoring him for A-level.

Andrew was very prompt and helpful in setting up the lessons. My son thought the standard of his teaching was very good. He had been struggling with statistics in his A level Maths and Andrew really helped explain this difficult area to him. We would recommend him.

My son has had his first tutoring session with Andrew and actually enjoyed the hour of algebra he did - perhaps because with Andrew`s help he was understanding it.
