Information about Amy
I am a professional, enthusiastic and flexible tutor who creates individualised sessions to support whoever I am working with to achieve their goals.
I firmly believe that education can not only be a truly enriching experience, but that it should be an enjoyable one as well. I am genuinely passionate about supporting those I work with to achieve their goals, increase their confidence, and have fun on the journey! Each person is different and I feel that private tutoring offers students a significant amount of attention, and individualised session planning that will help them succeed. I certainly put each of these elements into every session I deliver to ensure the children I work with get the absolute most out of their lessons.
Availability: I am available after school and during the evening onThursday.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been working in the education sector for 13 years after graduating with a combined English degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005. Since then I have also gained my PCGE teaching qualification and a Master`s degree in Education (at distinction level). As well as lecturing at a local university centre, for the past eight years I have also specialised in private tutoring in Primary level English and Maths. I have found that through working in this way students are able to progress well through the increased amount of attention private tutoring provides. It is a highly rewarding way to work and I am passionate and enthusiastic about working with children as individuals to help them succeed and achieve their goals. Additionally, as a qualified coach I am also able to support children well with issues such as increased confidence, goal achievement and problem solving.

Amy is a wonderful tutor for my son and is helping him to improve his reading and writing. She is a patient and engaging teacher and willing to help with any areas you request. I can see an improvement in my sons confidence and passion to learn in just a short few weeks. I would highly recommend Amy.

Amy has been tutoring my 9 year old daughter in Maths for apx 12 months now and the change in her is clear to see. She has become much more confident which enables her to attempt the harder aspects of the subject without worrying about getting the answers wrong! Her lessons are always full of patience, enthusiam and positivity and she ensures they are catered to the level which is right for the pupil so they receive a solid foundation on which to build from rather than starting at an age related level, which we found to be too high for my daughter.

We needed support for our daughter who was under performing for her Key Stage 1 SATS with especially her reading. Amy listened to us & gave us choices in terms of what work she could do with our girl. Amy`s work was planned with clear thinking around how our girl would be supported to improve. My girl did improve & did well with her reading in her SATS. Our girl also really enjoyed going to Amy`s....we could not recommend Amy Hill enough & may return if needed.
