Information about Alex
I started tutoring in 2010 and, over the years, helped many students on to success in their GCSE and A level exams, including some students no longer in full time education. For anyone to learn anything you have to first make sense of the material, so I believe in spending time unpacking basics, exploring the core concepts fundamental to a given subject. It`s much more effective than trying to learn by rote and yields rewards a student will benefit from long after results day has passed. At Oxford I was lucky enough to be able to learn from some of the finest teachers around, and saw firsthand how useful one on one tutoring can be. As a supplement to classroom teaching it`s invaluable. I can also help with essay technique and university applications for those who might need.

Although a good reader my concrete-minded science oriented son has found English woolly and frustrating and trying to get him to write essays has been like pulling teeth. After his third lesson with Alex he said I cant believe Im saying this but I think I like English now.
He actually looks forward to his lessons with Alex and has begun to show a fresh interest in writing and discussing his work. Highly recommend!
