I have an Upper Second degree in English and Philosophy, and I am able to tutor in English Language and Literature, up to and including A-level. My recent experience includes teaching GCSE students in both higher and foundation English, with very good results. I am patient and supportive and my teaching style is very focused, with a view to students gaining speedy progress and increasing their confidence in English as a subject. I will help build essay-writing skills and break down exam questions in order for students to approach their exams armed with a thorough understanding of what is expected of them.

Availability: I am available weekdays and weekends

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been tutoring for three years. I also have experience of teaching English to people for whom it is not a first language, and I can draw on this where some GSCE students may not always have lived in the UK.

I am extremely patient and my aim is to build confidence in English Language and Literature as GCSE subjects, and help the student work towards achieving the best possible grades.
